The first days of January saw the end of a day holiday for a few people who spent Christmas with us. It is always a sad moment, because people who came out as clients and leave as friends, but most reserve changes for all meet again. At the time of this writing, the heat wave continues, we are taking the best January on record, the sun is relentless, and each day is 100 degrees. We have not had a drop of rain in five weeks, the lake has lost a foot because the water gardens twice a day from the lake. Back to a bit of humor – my manager Watts, bless him, Sean is very gullible and got him a treat this month. Watt wanted to know how I could increase the size of his manhood, so Sean informed him of a cream called 3-in-1 three times the size of your forehead, and the poor youth fell into the trap watts. We also had visits from two brothers who have nicknamed The Wurzels, a very good couple of guys who lived on a farm in the country, and has decided to take an adventure. I had never been outside their county, let alone the country, and had never heard of a place called Oxford, where our guide comes from Kevin. I had an investigation before Christmas of a guy with the name of Jerker who wish to visit for a 48-hour trip. I thought it was a rope from a companion but in reality turns out to be a popular name in Scandinavia – it seems there are plenty of jerkers there! I guess when they say that out of Jerker! Sorry, could not resist that, it's a bit like the boy named Wayne Kerr. OK back to the story … Jerker was a fan of fishing, but reserved three bars, and was encouraged from the moment he arrived. He had his better half Ida with him, and what a pair! He said that Ida could fish, but only wanted the use of corn or boilies to catch fish no bigger than him. The first day Ida was a machine, having eight Siamese carp feed in a short spell, but by day next well beat him with Jerker Mekong catfish 150 pounds in the morning, followed by three Siamese carp to 120 pounds. While all this happened, the poor Jerker in the next two fish swim to land. The following week Jerker returned for a day of fishing, and to save face poor Ida was not allowed to fish! Had a day better, probably because Ida was showing what to do, landing five fish with a few small tents, the rules of Ida, up to 55 pounds, plus a featherback pleasant around 12 pounds.

Reiner Dream Lake in Chiang Mai, Austria Andreas sent his client to us. At the moment we arrived in middle of a heatwave and the fishing was slow, but within a week he managed 21 fish of five species. Their goal was slipping featherback, but on the last day in last hour of fishing, Andreas landed a fish of your dreams in the form of an Arapaima 400 pounds!
