Fitness Director Position
What education level do I need to be a director of fitness?
I am very interested in becoming a fitness director and currently I'm at school, but it's hard for me to understand what I should get my degree as standards become director of fitness are so vague and vary from company to company. I know you need a first experience as a personal trainer or head of group exercises, but I was wondering what education would be best for me to be a candidate to "move" in the position of director of fitness. I was thinking of a specialization in exercise science with a minor in business and then leave graduate found a job at an institution I love and see what they need to become director of fitness, I will not take all this school and do nothing. Does this sound like an effective plan? Does anyone have other suggestions of what could I do? Thank you very much in advance, I know it was that long haha:)
It seems you have a good plan. Major in exercise science or sports training and earn your degree sufficient training to be the intention of his career. Only I want to make sure that your program is accredited by the appropriate agency to ensure that you are able to sit for the national certification examination administered by the Association National Athletic Trainers Board of Certification (BOC).
