Gibson Les Paul

Origins

The Les Paul model was the result of design collaboration between Gibson Guitar Corporation and the star of pop, electronics inventor, and managed the jazz guitarist Les Paul. In 1950, with the introduction of the Fender Telecaster to the musical market, electric guitars became a public craze. In response, Gibson Guitar president Ted McCarty brought guitarist Les Paul in the company as a consultant.
