How much money do I need for a new wardrobe?
I lost 60 lbs since last May. I haven’t really bought much clothing; only a few outfits for work when I was about 25 lbs heavier. So obviously my clothing is now too big. I want to buy pants, shorts, t-shirts, bras from VS, and pretty underwear. How much money do you think I need for this? I have $250 saved so far.
You have no idea how excited I am! When I was 16 I weighed 230 lbs, last May I weighed 200. Now at 5’8”, 140 lbs I look great! Plus I have DDs that didn’t get that much smaller from the weight loss. So I have a pretty nice body now. People actually call ME thin! Sorry, to gloat but I have dreamed about this since I was 10 when kids started calling me fat.
Depends where you want to shop. The only specific store you mentioned was VS, which can get a little pricey, so maybe use about $200 on that. Also, you can dress for less by shopping at stores like Ross, TJMaxx or Marshall’s, which have brand names at marked down prices. If you want, you could even go to Target, which has some pretty trendy stuff sometimes. On the show What Not to Wear, people buy like 5 outfits for $5000, but if you can learn to be economical, I think you could do it in $1000, and buy about 20 outfits. That’s only if your crazy about clothes and need a new outfit for every weekday of the month. If you love to mix and match outfits, I’m sure you could do it in around the $700 range.
