Can straight guys admire another guy’s appearence?
I’m straight and I love women. But as a early 20′s guy who is into fitness and improving my body, I know what looks good and what I want to look like based on guys I see around me, on tv, magazines, etc. I can think, “thats a really good looking guy I want to dress like he does and act cool like him or wear my hair that way and have people admire me like they do to him”. I mean do a lot of guys think this same way? I will go online and save pics of a guy with a nice body, or who dresses cool because I refer to them to motivate me to acheive that look I want, in the gym and out of the gym. I know all guys dont do this but is this a normal thing to do? Theres a differece between thinking someone is good looking and to want to have sex with them. I only fantasize about having sexual encounters with women. But girls are always open about other girls they think look good, but for men its understood not really to talk about it, so it can make guys feel insecure about their thoughts.
You don’t have to be gay to know who’s goodlooking and who’s not, and who dresses nice and who doesn’t. I don’t exactly look at pictures and look at the body’ but I do know when I see a goodlooking face or a nice hairstyle or a really nice outfit. And there’s nothing wrong for wanting to wear what they’re wearing or wanting to copy their hairstyle. I have looked at many pictures and have gone ‘that guy has a wicked hair’ or ‘that’s an awesome vest, I’ve got to go out and buy one like that’. But that isn’t to say I haven’t seen other pictures and gone ‘that guy looks like f***-head, what an emo poser’. – lol just had to put that in.
So yes you can admire a guys appearance and if anyone thinks you’re ‘gay’ for thinking this way, they must not be very great in appearance themselves.
